Accountability

At Crossroads, we understand that all provision for the ministry comes directly from the Hand of God. It is of vital importance to us that we be faithful stewards and maintain integrity and openness in our financial practices; both to the giving public, the government, and within our own offices. Below you will find many of our guiding principles. We have a written STATEMENT OF FAITH clearly affirming our commitment to the Historic Evangelical Christian doctrine. Our mission is to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to faithfully support His Body, the Church; our financial practices and policies are designed to further that mission.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

  • We are governed by a responsible Board of Directors, the majority of whom are not staff members or their relatives. Our Board meets to establish policies, approve budgets, and review operational results and ministry accomplishments.

FINANCES AND FUND RAISING

  • Our financial statements are prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards. We obtain an annual audit in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards by an independent public accounting firm. Copies of our current audited financial statements are available upon request or can be downloaded from this website.

  • We seek to conduct our activities with the highest standards of integrity and to avoid conflicts of interest with staff, seasonal employees, contractors and Board Members.
  • We do not use high-pressure or manipulative fund-raising tactics. God is in charge of both His provision for Crossroads as well as the heart of the giver. Therefore we simply put needs and visions out to our supporters and trust that the Lord will move in the hearts of the giver.
  • Our fund-raising appeals clearly identify the purpose and programs to which donations will be applied, and we ensure that donations are used for the purposes for which they were raised. Our policy is to meet the needs God lays before us, so that Christ is lifted up and the Gospel advanced.
  • Should we receive more funds than are needed to meet a stated need, we will use the excess funds to meet a similar need. All funds will be used to serve the Mission of the Organization.
  • Contributions to the ministry are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law. In order to help our donors determine the tax-deductible portion of their gifts, we provide written documentation to the donor for all donations showing the fair market value of any goods or services provided to the donor.

GENERAL

  • We will not operate this ministry with indebtedness that dishonors the cause of Christ and hinders the work of the Gospel. While we may occasionally borrow funds for capital expenditures, we promptly repay those loans.
  • When we make a purchase, we pay the approved invoice within 30 days.
  • We do not sell or rent our mailing list to other groups.
