Thinking about CDH?  Hear what others have said…

Caroline Lewis (CDH 2)
CDH taught me to love people who are different than me and to prefer other’s needs above my own. It taught me that true Biblical community is messy, it is necessary, but most importantly it is worth it.

Brent Sears (CDH1)
CDH was one of those experiences that taught me the meaning of laying down my life for the sake of my neighbor. I believe if you have never been in true community that this experience will whet your appetite to biblical community in its truest form.

Bradley Capps (CDH 4)
CDH was a great experience for me, and it is something that I will take with me wherever I go! CDH taught me about Biblical community and the true meaning of carrying each other’s burdens. I have never experienced Biblical community like I did while in CDH- not only being taught about it but actually seeing the community live it out. I also learned a lot about love and how we are called to share the love of Christ with everyone we come in to contact with on a daily basis.

Diana Wolfe (CDH 4)
CDH was such a challenging, encouraging, real, honest, blunt slap in the face! I was woken up to what Christ intended His Church to be and how He intended for us to live. It showed me that I’m not alone in this journey and that there are brothers and sisters that are seeking after the same things as I am, and together we can reach them a lot quicker by praying for one another, encouragement, living life together, and asking the hard questions. Community became one of the things I desire now to see in people’s lives and in mine the most, next to of course a relationship with Christ first.

My year in CDH also helped me become honest with people. I needed to learn to confront the people I love and to be humbled and thankful when others confront me. The Lord showed me through the year that if I love these people as much as I say I do then I can confront them about things and encourage and love them through it. My brothers and sisters, and house parents, helped me work on this. I wouldn’t change one thing about my year at all. I learned from the hard and difficult times and loved the good times as well. I learned to not only love Christ and what He has called me to, but to enjoy living for Him in His creation and with His creation in a whole new way!
